Labels on X axis of scatter chart show numbers not months due to design.
Cause:
Scatter charts will only show numbers for labels. This is by design of Microsoft Excel.
Solution:
Change the chart type to a line chart.
1) Double-click on the chart to activate it. (A striped border with handles appears around the chart.)
2) Select the 'Format' menu and select 'Chart Type...'. (The Chart Type dialog box appears.)
3) Select the 'Entire Chart' radio button in the 'Apply to' group.
4) Select the picture representing the line chart.

5) Click 'OK' to save the change and close the 'Chart Type' dialog box. (The chart is automatically changed to reflect the change.)
NOTE: The X axis should now be labeled with months.
